Holy Quran, Chapter 2 Verse 148

Verse 148

“Hasten to (do) good works; wherever you are, Allah will bring you all together; surely Allah has power over all things.”

Imam Mohammed Baqir (as) narrates regarding this verse, “Allah says in His Book, “Hasten to (do) good works; wherever you are, Allah will bring you all together; surely Allah has power over all things.”

Good works is believing in the Wilayat of Ameerul Momineen (as). (Tafseer Al Qummi volume 2 page 205)

Imam Jafar Sadiq (as) narrates from his father regarding this saying of Allah, Imam Mohammed Baqir (as) said, “Good works” is in reference to the Wilayat of Ameerul Momineen (as). “Wherever you are, Allah will bring you all together” is in reference to the companions of Imam Mahdi (as) who number slightly more than 310 men. I swear by Allah, they are the “reckoned time” (Chapter 11 verse 8) who will unite within one hour just as the clouds gather in the sky. (Al Kafi volume 8 page 313)

Imam Zainul Abideen (as) and Imam Mohammed Baqir (as) narrate regarding this verse of Allah, Fuqada (missing ones) are a group of people who will disappear from their beds and find themselves in Mecca. Allah says, “Wherever you are, Allah will bring you together”, and this is in reference to the companions of Imam Mahdi (as.) (Al Ghaybah by Nomani page 168)

Mufazzal narrates from Imam Jafar Sadiq (as) regarding this verse of Allah, Imam (as) said, When Allah gives permission for the reappearance of Imam Mahdi (as), He will call upon Allah with His Hebrew name. Suddenly His 313 companions will be gathered around Him the way clouds gather together in the sky. These 313 companions are the standard bearers. Some of them will disappear from their beds at night and find themselves in Mecca while others will travel on clouds during the day. Their names, titles, and lineage is already written.

I (Mufaizal) asked, “May I sacrifice my life for You. Who are stronger in faith?”

Imam (as) replied, “Those who travel on clouds during the day. They are the missing ones and the following verse is in reference of them, “Wherever you are, Allah will bring you all together” (Al Ghaybah by Nomani page 168)

Abu Baseer narrates from Imam Jafar Sadiq (as) regarding this verse of Allah, Imam (as) said, “This verse is in reference to the companions of Imam Mahdi (as). They will be united with no compulsion”. (Al Ghaybah by Nomani page 127)

Jabir narrates from Imam Mohammed Baqir (as) regarding this verse of Allah, Imam (as) said, “Allah will gather the 313 companions of Imam e Zamana (as) with no compulsion just as the clouds gather together in the sky.

O Jabir! They are those this verse “Wherever you are, Allah will bring you together” was revealed. They will pay allegiance to Him (as) between Rukn and Maqaam. He (Imam Mahdi (as)) will have the covenant of Holy Prophet (saw) with him, the covenant that is inherited from one Imam (as) to the next.” (Al Ghaybah by Nomani page 150)

A servant of Imam Musa Kazim (as) narrates,” I asked Imam Kazim (as) regarding this verse, “Wherever you are, Allah will bring you together”. Imam (as) said, “I swear by Allah that when Our Qaem (as) reappears, Allah will gather our Shiah for him from every country.” (Tafseer Ayyashi volume 1 page 64)

(The above tafseer is taken from the book Al Muhajjah)
